Today’s Reality
Today’s culture has no shortage of issues. I talk about quite a few of these issues in Jack in the Box.
We live in a microwave society filled with instant gratification and short attention spans. Because of this, many people lack the necessary determination and motivation to reach their dreams. We’re used to receiving fast services and speedy results. People increasingly seem depleted of ambition, which drains their work ethic. They desire instant success with immediate self-gratification, but reality doesn’t function that way.
In general conversation, it’s not unusual for me to ask people, no matter their age, “What do you want to do with your life?” Three famous words generally follow. “I don’t know.” Most people have no clue what they really want their life to be. They don’t invest the time to think about it (nor did their parents). For many, numerous luxuries have been handed to them. When titles and extravagances are too simple to acquire, people don’t know what to strive for. The challenge of becoming great has weakened, and the “reaching for the stars” mentality is practically nonexistent. Someone has already delivered the prize to them. Convenience has robbed them of their purpose, along with their incentive to pursue it.
It’s time to climb out of the box and become your own person. You can change and break away from your barriers. It’s always your choice.
Remember, you’re one-of-a-kind in this vast universe. Your life is your gift. Everything comes down to choices. Make decisions that feel right to you. Trust your instincts.
Choose to learn and grow; never stop learning. Never be embarrassed to step outside of your comfort zone to acquire a new lesson. Never regret taking a chance or being vulnerable. It isn’t smart to get stuck in the rut of stubbornness. It’s not beneath you to gain new knowledge. Instead, be strong, have the courage to inhabit your life the way you envision.
